Do you know of the TDWI (The Data Warehouse Institute)? Probably a moot question since that is what your comment was in reference to (the Wine over Warehousing event). We hold quarterly meetings showcasing the latest BI trends and the discussions during and after the sessions are great. We just had a meeting which discussed Cloud Intelligence using Hadoop Hive, out at the new Amazon offices, which had a great turnout (despite the snow storm that evening). I am looking forward to seeing how mobile apps and BI continues to play out, as well as social networking and BI, with the extreme trajectory of adoption hitting amazing new heights recently (yet also worried that any bubble is certain to burst).
